Baxter the Library Cat visits TPL

Baxter the Library Cat visited Turner Public Library’s Story Time on Saturday, April 14 and was enthusiastically greeted by a great number of young readers as well as parents and grand-parents.

Baxter is the travelling mascot of the Maine Library Association. Like most cats Baxter enjoys visiting with young people and encouraging them to read, while getting plenty of attention; and busy Baxter does it in libraries from Kittery to Fort Kent.

Story Time for pre-school and kindergarten children is held the second Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. There are stories, crafts, snacks and fun for the youngsters who hopefully will be avid readers for life. The coming schedule for Story Time at TPL is June 9; July 14; and Aug. 11
